Emery Capital has invested in 3D scanning mobile app GeoCV

Emery Capital has invested in GeoCV company that develops a mobile application for 3D capturing of objects and spaces using mobile devices with 3D sensors.

Emery Capital led the $1,15 mln investment round. Starta Capital VC fund made a follow on investment during the round. Investments will be made stepwise. Startup has already received $400k. The proceeds will be used for launching sales in the US and Russia and for further product development.

The GeoCV app is intended for smartphones and tablets with 3D sensors, which measure distance to surface for every pixel of the frame. Such mobile devices are already available for developers (Google Project Tango and Intel RealSense). According to official announcements made by vendors such devices will enter the mass market in early 2016. The scanning process is similar to shooting ordinary video. GeoCV algorithms automatically stitch video frames and 3D sensor measurements into a 3D model.

GeoCV has been accepted to Rothenberg Ventures River - the first accelerator for the fastest growing virtual reality startups

GeoCV has been accepted to Rothenberg Ventures River accelerator in San Francisco. The startup has been selected among 14 companies from more than 600 applications. The program has started on Monday and will last for 12 weeks.

FairFly enables travelers to save money on airline tickets after booking. Travelers upload their flights to the application and if the price decreases, FairFly cancels the previously acquired ticket and buys the new one. The difference is returned to the traveler and FairFly gets a success fee- a portion of the savings. The company's business model presumes both B2C and B2B options.

Emery capital portfolio company Zeek raises next round

Israeli startup Zeek, whose app lets you buy and sell unwanted store gift vouchers, has closed $9.5 million in Series B funding.

The round was led by Scale-Up Venture Capital, with participation from long list of additional investors, some of which contributed to the company's Series A early last year.

They include Blumberg Capital, Qualcomm Incorporated (via its venture investment group, Qualcomm Ventures) FJ Labs, Uri Levine, Emery Capital, Ton Ventures, Radiant Venture Capital, iAngels and Target Global.

Originally launched out of Tel Aviv in 2014, Zeek has since expanded to the U.K., which is now a key market for the startup and part of the reason for today's announced fund-raise. The new capital will be used to consolidate its position in the U.K. and for further international expansion. This will include a hiring drive as Zeek plans to increase headcount in order to accelerate that growth.

The company's app and marketplace lets you trade unwanted store credit, including gift vouchers, credit notes, gift cards and e-vouchers. The seller gets to offload credit that is of no use or before it expires, and the buyer gets to purchase credit at a significant discount.

UK-based company PremFina has today announced that it has secured a US$36 million in equity and debt financing. Chronicled Raises $16M To Bring Blockchain To The Pharmaceutical Industry

Chronicled, Inc., a software technology company that gives industries and enterprises the tools to build blockchain-powered supply chain ecosystems, announced today that it has raised $16 Million in Series A funding. The round was led by Mandra Capital with participation from Streamlined Ventures, The Perkins Fund and Emery Capital.

Founded in 2014, Chronicled has been one of the earliest businesses to develop a commercial enterprise platform based on blockchain technology. The company's network management tools and library of privacy-protected protocols are designed to help enterprises in various industries secure and automate their supply chains, streamline business processes, and reduce operational costs.

According to Ryan Orr, co-founder and chairman of Chronicled, the $16 Million Series A funding will be used to support the pharmaceutical industry network and operational growth.

Sight Diagnostics Secures $28M Series C Financing

Israel-based Sight Diagnostics has raised $28 Million in Series C funding from Clal Biotechnology Industries.

Sight Diagnostics has developed a real-time blood test requiring only a few drops of blood that can be collected by pricking a finger. The company's test for malaria is being marketed in developing countries, and it is also developing a test to replace the conventional blood count test. Sight Diagnostics' test requires neither taking blood from a vein nor analysis of the blood in a central laboratory; a doctor can obtain the results in an independent clinic within minutes.

In the first stage, the test is nevertheless carried out in a central laboratory. Simultaneously with the launch, the company also began a clinical trial in the US. Sight Diagnostics has already conducted a clinical trial on 247 patients at Shaare Zedek Medical Center, which enabled the company to obtain CE approval for marketing in Europe.

Clal Biotechnology is an Israeli investment group focused on investments in biotechnology companies. FDA clearance positions Sight Diagnostics to deliver on two-drop blood testing promise

Sight Diagnostics today has secured 510(k) clearance for its Olo analyzer that certainly will reduce the flow of future patient tears and fears as the system requires just two drops of blood to conduct a range of tests.

With FDA approval in hand, the company expects to begin selling to hospitals. The Olo device could be located in the hospitals' central laboratories, but they're small enough to be placed in departments that have high demand but no space for traditional testing equipment.

Today, the San Francisco-based startup announces that it has concluded a Series B funding round of $36 million led by Eclipse Ventures, with participation from ICONIQ Capital, Hanaco Ventures, and Floodgate Fund. Metadata.io, Emery Capital portfolio company, announced today that it has raised $6.5 million in Series A funding

This round has followed the company's $2m seed funding round from 4 years ago. Since then, the company has launched its product in general availability, and Gil Allouche, the founder, told yesterday that it has become "really the middleware for the sales and marketing stack."

Gil Allouche also said that demand has increased significantly since the beginning of the pandemic. That's counter to larger digital ad trends, but he noted that B2B companies still need to reach customers, and many of the old tools - like in-person events - are now off the table.

The new funding was led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from Greycroft, York IE, Stormbreakers, Eloqua founder Mark Organ, Segment founder Ilya Volodarsky and others.

The platform has been used by companies including Zoom, Drift, Pendo, Udacity, and Vonage.

Spanish fintech company ID Finance, co-founded by Boris Batin and Alexander Dunaev, has secured €30 million in funding from UK-based Kingsway Capital. The funds will be utilized to further develop Plazo, the company's non-bank product, in Spain and Mexico. Boris Batin made the announcement via Facebook. The deal includes both primary capital investment and the buyback of shares from initial investors, structured as a convertible loan with a maximum value of €235 million. Emery Capital successfully exited during the transaction. Plazo, a mobile app launched by ID Finance in 2021, enables users to obtain an electronic debit card and apply for overdrafts.

Emery Capital portfolio company 365scores acquired for $160mn by Entain (UK)

365scores, a global leader in sports news aggregation and management, has been acquired by Entain (UK), one of the largest sports betting and gaming groups. Emery Capital, which had been an early backer of the company since 2014, has made a tremendously successful exit. Entain, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has a market cap of about $9.2 billion, owns Coral and Ladbrokes betting shops, Eurobet, and gaming brands Foxy Bingo, Gala, GiocoDigitale, Ninja Casino, Optibet, Partypoker, and PartyCasino. Entain plans to use 365scores' "deep expertise in data-driven sports media content" to enhance and expand its offerings of interactive content and experiences for its users.

365scores' mobile live app covers 10 sport categories across 2,000 competitions globally, providing users with live push notifications and feeds on results and personalized news. According to data.ai rankings, 365scores has more than 15 million active users and is ranked among the top five scores apps worldwide. YouAppi Acquired by Affle for $45 Million

Another exit for Emery Capital. YouAppi was founded in 2011 and has raised relatively little external funding. The company hasn't raised money since a $13 million Series B in 2016. Its investors include Glilot Capital Partners, Altair, Emery Capital and others. The company was founded by Moshe Vaknin, who still serves as CEO, and Ofer Garnett.

YouAppi has developed a performance-based mobile app marketing and retargeting platform for app publishers and brands. From user acquisition to retention via app retargeting and re-engagement, the company delivers a range of mobile marketing solutions.

Affle is a global technology firm founded in 1984. It has a specialized consumer intelligence platform that provides consumer suggestions and lead conversions through personalized mobile ads. Since the acquisition announcement yesterday, Affle's stock price is up 3.64%.
